What is ALC Block?

“Q-CON Autoclaved Aerated Concrete is the Difference of Equalization”

There are various kinds of lightweight concrete that look similar from outside. However, the production processes and raw materials make the quality of the products different. We can classify lightweight concrete into 2 categories according to the production processes.

  1. Non-Autoclaved System : There are two types of Lightweight concrete that are made from the non-autoclaved system.

    1. Replacement by lighter material : In order to make the concrete lighter, saw-dust, ash, organic fiber, or granular foam is used for the production. However, this kind of lightweight concrete is not durable and it can be worn away easily. The block itself will generate toxic fumes when it is burned.
    2. Circular Lightweight Concrete (CLC) : In the process of making circular lightweight concrete, chemical substances are used to make the concrete expand before it is set to make it stronger. However, this kind of concrete is heavy and shrinkable. As a result, the outer concrete coating will be break easily and loss strength. The color of the concrete made from non-autoclaved system will mostly look like cement. However, the color of the concrete made from autoclaved system will appear crystal white.
  2. Autoclaved System : There are two kinds of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete categorized by the raw materials used in each of them.

    1. Lime Base : Lime is used as the main material to produce this kind of concrete. However, the quality of the concrete that is made mainly from lime base is not stable as one of the characteristics of lime base is that it absorbs a lot of water.
    2. Cement Base : Portland cement type I is used as main raw material to produce this kind of concrete. The quality of concrete produced by using Portland cement type I is consistent. Moreover, this kind of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete is stronger and more durable than concrete blocks made from some other production processes because of the calcium silicate generated by this production process.

“Q-CON” Autoclaved Aerated Concrete is an international standard quality because we use an autoclaved system with our cement base formula for all of our Q-CON products. This production process is acceptable worldwide to produce excellent quality Autoclaved Aerated Concrete.

Furthermore, “Q-CON” is strict and careful in every each and every step of the production process to produce Q-CON products. We use only excellent quality raw materials such as Portland cement type I, sand, gypsum, lime, water and aluminum in our production to make a superior quality of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete. We always test the quality of all raw materials before we mix them together regarding to the formulation of German Technology. Then we wait until the small bubbles produced in this stage of production are distributed consistently and thoroughly within the concrete blocks before we incubate them. Next step, we will cut them with high standard cutting machines to make each block have precise dimensions before they are sent to be autoclaved in high pressure steaming machines. Within a specific high temperature, high pressure and perfect timing, calcium silicate will be produced to make “Q-CON” Autoclaved Aerated Concrete with their unique excellent quality, which is lighter but stronger, that comply to world standards for Autoclaved Aerated Concrete.
